Submissions open for Flash Film Competition in memory of Bernadeen
View(s):The Women’s Education and Research Centre will hold the Bernadeen Silva Memorial Flash Film Competition – 2013 on the theme ‘Women’s Power’.
The Bernadeen Silva Memorial Award is in memory of the late Ms. Bernadeen Silva and her extensive contribution to civil society and commitment to issues such as peace, social justice and civil rights. WERC is seeking Flash Film submissions that explore “Women’s Power” and women’s role as change agents in all spheres of life/society.
Entries will be judged by an expert panel. There is a first prize of Rs. 50,000 and a second prize of Rs. 30,000.-
The submission criteria are as follows:
- Submission deadline: July 31, 2013
- Maximum running time: Five minutes (including credits)
- Language: Sinhala/Tamil/English
- Only Sri Lankans can apply
- Film could be of any genre: documentary, feature, video art , animation, music video
- Format: Any standard video format (eg: .AVI, MPEG, .MOV, .FLV, etc.)
Film could be produced using any mode (mobile phone, handycam, camcorder, professional camera)
CDs or DVDs (as a video data format eg: .AVI, .MPEG, .MOV, .FLV files etc) should be sent to the Executive Director, Women’s Education and Research Centre (WERC) at 58, Dharmarama Road, Colombo 6 during office hours.
