Mercantile Clinches Inter Association Netball title
Mercantile Netball Association Defeated State Services Netball Association by 63 points to 49 to clinch the girl’s inter-Association Netball title at Welagedera stadium Kurunegala.

This tournament was jointly conducted by the Netball federation of Sri Lanka and the Kurunegala district Netball Association and Sponsored by People’s Bank.In all Twenty four teams Participated at this two day tournament which was revived after Seven Years.
In the final Mercantile defeated state Services by 63 points to 49. Scores were 15-11, 17-16, 41-13, 17-9, in favor of Mercantile during the short breaks. Nationalized services overcame Sri Lanka School in a thriller 23-21 in the third place play off.
In the mixed event mercantile defeated State Services by 12 points 11 in the final.
Viraji Chamarika of state services was crowned as the Netball queen while Daya Wickremage of Matara district Netball Association won the best up and coming players award .
