Hundreds of students take part in the CA Sri Lanka “Sisunena” seminar series
View(s):The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) in keeping with its role as the country’s national accounting body successfully concluded a seminar series aimed at enlightening and expanding the knowledge of students in the commerce stream.
The seminars delivered by a panel of experts was held across various parts of the country covering all districts including the commercial capital of Colombo specially targeting GCE Advance Level students in the commerce stream.
Due to the topical subjects i.e. Sri Lankan Accounting Standards and Presentation of Financial Statements etc. covered in the “Sisunena” seminar series, the demand for these seminars is constantly increasing and steps have been taken to cover all zonal education divisions across the country.
Recently two “Sisunena” seminars were conducted at D S Senanayake Vidyalaya, Ampara and at the Ampara Town Hall in collaboration with DMH Institute, Ampara by renowned lecturers Mr. T Dharmarajah, Mr. Gamini Wijesinghe and Mr. Saman Bandara, with an impressive participation of over 500 students at the seminars.
Through the “Sisunena” seminar series, students are not only given the necessary subject knowledge in the Accounting syllabus but the seminar is also a platform to encourage them to face to the G.C.E. A/L Examination with full confidence.
Hon. Wimalaweera Dissanayake, Minister Education, Land Development, Cultural Affairs and Transport, Mr. Sunil Gunathilaka, Director Commerce, Ampara, Mr. Saman Bandara, Chartered Accountant, lecturer of the University of Kelaniya, Mr. Kumara Jayasooriya, renowned Accounting Lecturer at DMH Institute in Ampara addressed the gathering.
