CINEC UoW & DMU Convocation 2013
View(s):The Colombo International Nautical & Engineering College (CINEC) held its double convocation from the University of Wolverhampton, UK & Dalian Maritime University, China on the 25th of June 2013 at the Klaus E. Orlendorff Auditorium of the campus.
89 students graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Wolverhampton and Bachelor of Science in International Transportation and Logistics Management from the Dalian Maritime University.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Prof. (Mrs.) Kshanika Hirimburegama Chairperson, University Grants Commission Sri Lanka and the graduation was presided by the President of the CINEC Campus, Captain Ajith Peiris.
The graduands of the University of Wolverhampton were presented to Prof. Geoffrey Mark Layer, Vice Chancellor University of Wolverhamton and Prof. N. Rajkumar the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology whilst the graduands of the Dalian Maritime University were presented to Prof. Liu Zhengjiang, Vice President Dalian Maritime University and Prof. J.A. Karunaratne, the Dean of the Faculty of Management .
Students were lauded for their outstanding achievements for Best Overall Performance & Best Dissertation, BSc International Transportation and Logistics Ms. Prashani Chathurangika Liyanage and Best Overall Performance, BEng (Hons) Mr. W. L. A. Lushan Weerasooriya and BEng (Hons) Best Project Dissertation Ms. Samidini Yanudha Athukorala by the Chief Guest Prof. (Mrs.) Kshanika Hirimburegama Chairperson, University Grants Commission Sri Lanka, Prof. Geoffrey Mark Layer, Vice Chancellor University of Wolverhamton UK, Prof. Liu Zhengjiang, Vice President Dalian Maritime University China, Mr. Hemantha Jayanetti – Chairman Ceyline Group ,Capt. Ajith Peiris – Group Managing Director Ceyline Group and President of CINEC, Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake
