Sampath Bank Toastmasters Club (SBTMC) 14th AGM on June 26, 2013
The 14th Annual General Meeting of Sampath Bank Toastmasters Club (SBTMC) was held on 26th June 2013 from 6.00 pm onwards at Mercantile Cricket Association.
Further to the Annual General Meeting, TM Bimal Liyanage presided the meeting as the Protem Chairman and all the 2012/2013 Office Bearers were released from their duties by him. The following new Office Bearers, who were proposed by TM Madhawa Rathnayake and seconded by TM HarshaMendis took Toastmasters’ promise for the new tenure 2013/2014.

The New President proposed to appoint three additional office bearers from their senior TMs, to back the Club members. The proposal was accepted and approved by all the members.

Sampath Bank Toastmasters Club (SBTMC) (Affiliated to Toastmasters International) was initiated in 2000 as the first corporate Toastmasters Club in Sri Lankawhich was started with 20 membersand it is also the second Toastmasters Club in the country. T M Sujith Bandulahewa, the Charter President of SBTMC, who initiated the formation of the Club in the year 2000, with the help of his other Charter Members, too was presentat the AGM as an invitee. DTM Bhathiya Hettiarachchi a Past President of SBTMC also was present.
Sampath Bank Toastmasters Club (SBTMC) holds many tributes in the history of Toast mastering in Sri Lanka for last fourteen years. SBTMC has earned four Presidential Distinguished club awards which is the highest award, having achieved the maximum number of goals set by the Toastmasters International USA, two Select Distinguished awards and four Distinguished Awards within its fourteen year history.
