Dr Sanjaya Sedara Senarath vows to put Matara cricket on right track
Dr Sanjaya Sedara Senarath was voted in as president of the Matara District Cricket Association (MDCA). He vowed to put cricket in the district back on the right track within his three year tenure.
Dr. Sanjaya is currently the president of the Hambanthota District Cricket Association (HDCA) and a member of Sri Lanka Cricket’s executive committee.
The annual general meeting of the MDCA was held recently as the post of President fell vacant with the resignation of Dr Ajith Ranawaka. Matara District Parliamentarian and chairman of SLC’s selection committee Sanath Jayasuriya who has been very critical of the poor standard of cricket in the district, was appointed senior vice president.
