FIFA holds wide-reaching course for Lankan officials
View(s):FIFA, the world governing body in football kicked off its Member Association course on Administration and Management in Sri Lanka on Wednesday. The course, which is being held at the Football House auditorium in Torrington, will come to an end today.
According to Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) reports, its League Administration will be highly enhanced with the FIFA expertise through this programme where 27 officials representing 26 leagues took part.
The course is being conducted by FIFA Instructor Prof. Nicos L. Kartakoullis, a PhD in Cyprus, who is also the Vice President for Development and University relations at University of Nicosia in Cyprus. The course contents included aspects on FIFA and Development Activities, management of MA and Football organisation, Strategic and Business Planing for MAs, Football promotion and Marketing, Finance Management, Competitions and Organisations, Club Structures and Administration, Event Management, The role of Referees, Coaches and stakeholders in developing the Game and Managing development programmes. FFSL officials Anura de Silva, the Director of Operations and Neil Obeysiri, the Director of Logistics, acted as director and coordinator of the course.

Latheeb (Matale FL), Bandara Yapa (N.S.S.A.), S. G. Piyasena (Nawalapitiya FL), Vijaya Kumar (Negombo FL), R. Mahendran (Nuwara Eliya FL), T. Vartharasan (Point Pedro FL), Padmasiri Munasinghe (Police FL), S. Jayasooriya (Schools FL), K. Yogaratnam (Trincomalee FL), Condrad Perera (Wattala FL) and K. D. Chandrapala (Polonnaruwa FL) attended the course.
