BCAS campus in collaboration with INTI International University Malaysia organized a familiarization tour to the University from 2 July 2013 to 9 July 2013. 27 students from various schools of BCAS (School of Computing, School of Engineering, School of Law, School, School of Management, School of Building Studies and School of Health) accompanied by 07 academic and management staff participated in that useful tour.

The purpose of the trip was to get the students to be exposed to the learning facilities made available at the INTI University and to get acquainted with Malaysian culture and build confidence in the BCAS students.

This is the first time both INTI University of Malaysia and BCAS Campus of Sri Lanka worked together in this type of student tour project.

It was an interesting week long trip and the participants were engaged in activities to get to know each other with the INTI university students and staff. The accommodation and meals to the party during their entire tour were provided by the university in their halls. The party were shown around different departments and learning facilities of the University.

They conducted two workshops on two consecutive days for the party about the university’s study programme and team building aspects. The BCAS students were introduced to the students who are already studying at INTI and shown around their vast campus facilities. During the interaction, the students shared their experiences in their respective institutions in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. On one of the days shopping at Sunway Pyramids was a new experience for the BCAS students. On the fourth day of the tour, the BCAS party was taken to the Genting Highlands which is a tourist attraction in Malaysia and everyone enjoyed the whole day there. It was a comfortable break, too after hectic workshops cocooned inside university premises. The fifth day was more interesting as the student and staff participated in a concert to make the hosts (INTI) happy. Two last days of the tour were set aside for the second round of shopping and visiting the Melaka city for sightseeing.

On the eight day the group took the flight to Colombo with lingering happy memories of INTI University, their hospitality and kindness. It was an enjoyable educational tour for the students to get themselves motivated for more education.
