Managing Director of Institute of Vocational Studies Professor Vijitha Mallika Senanayake had her early education at Gothami Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo and proceeded to Lumumba Friendship University, Russia to follow higher studies in Economics and had obtained an MSc from the said University. She is confident that the experience gained by her at the Russian University would help her to be of much service to the students who call over at IVS for future guidance. The IVS institute looks after the education and the welfare of the students till they complete their courses and takes great care in maintaining the trust reposed in the institute by the students and parents alike.
The number of Sri Lankan students who had been admitted to USTC University in Bangladesh had reached the 1000 mark by 2013.
In recognition of services being provided to the society by Prof. Vijitha Senanayake, MACO 2012 International Award was awarded, the World University council, Canada – GAD / The Saviya Development Fund (SDF), Saviya women’s organization (SWO) awarded her with “Diriya Prasadanee” award, The honorary title of “Sri Janaranjana Janie Jana Prasadini, Vishwa Prasaadini Lanka Diriya Maatha, Wyapaaravedi Nipun” was awarded by the Amarapura Sector Agga Maha Panditha, Thripitaka Waagishcharya Mahopadya Venerable Ambalangoda Sri Sumangalabidhana thero, for the services that had been rendered to the sons and daughters of the nation.
To commemorate the 15th Anniversary of IVS, she awarded 65 scholarships to students who had excelled in their studies. In addition IVS grants yearly scholarships to 100 students to cover 50% of the coast of their studies.
