Buddhism : Towards an end to man’s inhumanity to animals

A Dharma Deshana by the reputed Bana preacher Ven. Rajakiye Panditha Dodampahala Sri Rahula Thero on the topic ‘ Buddhism : Towards an End to Man’s Inhumanity to Animals’ will be delivered at a Pinkama to be held on Esala Poya Day (Monday, July 22) from 3.15 p.m. – 5 p.m., at the All Ceylon Women’s Buddhist Congress, 400 Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7, to mark the 14th death anniversary of Asoka Weeraratna (Ven. Mitirigala Dhammanisanthi Thero), the founder of the German Dharmaduta Society, Berlin Buddhist Vihara and the Mitirigala Nissarana Vanaya.

Ven. Mitirigala Dhammanisanthi Thero passed away on July 2, 1999 at the age of 80 years. In addition, a video documentary on the history of the German Dharmaduta Society and the services rendered by the Society in spreading the message of the Buddha in the West from Das Buddhistische Haus (Berlin Vihara) in Berlin – Frohnau, Germany, will be screened. All are welcome.
