It’s big match time in Matale
The inaugural under 17 & 15 twenty/20 cricket encounters and net ball fixtures(under 17 & 15) between two international schools,
The Matale International School Under-17 cricket team
Matale international school in Matale and Royal international school Kurunegala organized by Matale international schoo will be played at the Bernard Aluvihare stadium Matale on Thursday July 18th from 9.00 am on wards.
The cricket encounter is played for the Sirimavo Bandaranayaka memorial challenge trophy and the players are expected to wear coloured clothing in the play. Ihdhisham Imthiyas will lead MIS against royal international school Kurunegala led by M Shakeel, while under the captaincy of Dinura Perera MIS will take on RIS Kurunegala led by M. Ubaidulla in the under 15 match.
The Matale International School Under-17 netball team
Led by Nipuni Wansuriya Under 17 netball team of Royal International school will meet Matale international school skippered by Tilini Gunasekara while Nadushi Senanayake will lead under 15 royal inaternational school team against Matale international school led by Dinisha Samararathna.The netball encounter is played for Monty Gopallawa memorial challenge trophy.
In addition to the challenge trophies, the awards are on offer for the best batsman bowler and man of the match in both cricket encounters and also for the two best players in the two net ball fixtures.
The two international schools from the two cities Matale and kurunegala will treat the cricket and netball matches as the traditional big matches of the two school that will be played annually in the future.
