View(s):The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), will once again host the prestigious ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award’ in November, the 10th anniversary of the event.
The chamber said the awards, over the years, have reflected the growing sophistication and focus in the corporate citizenship field, with dozens of industry leaders such as John Keells, Aitken Spence, Hayleys, Singer, Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, Diesel & Motor Engineering, National Development Bank, People’s Leasing and more being recognized for their outstanding contribution to addressing some of society’s greatest needs.
“This year the awards will call for a strong contribution in sustainability, to encourage the acceptance of social and ecological responsibility and identify role models in that area,” the chamber said.
Harin Malwatte, CCC’s Secretary General noted that these awards have continuously spotlighted successful and replicable models of important, positive business impact on people, communities and environment. “We believe that in pioneering the awards, we have created role models among industry leaders who have excelled in social and community initiatives,” he added.
