IUSF complains to HRC on undergrads’ suspension, Unions’ prohibition
View(s):The Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) has complained to the Human Rights Commission (HRC) of the suspension of 46 students and the prohibition of five student unions at Sabaragamuwa University.
An IUSF spokesman said that they requested for the HRC’s intervention to lift the suspension of the students, as it was affecting their attendance at lectures and examinations.
They have also asked the HRC to give a ruling, allowing student unions to conduct union activities within the campus, which is currently under prohibition.
He said that students plan to continue their protest campaigns to win their demands.
