Sarathchandra goes on the board
View(s):A festival with two well-known plays by Professor Ediriweera Sarathchandra will be held from July 26 to 28 at the Lionel Wendt theatre, Colombo 7.
‘Sinhabahu’, one of the most revered dramas of Prof. Sarathchandra will be staged at 3.30 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. on July 27. Another master theatrical production by Prof. Sarathchandra “Hasthikantha Manthare” will go on the boards at 3.30 pm and 7.00pm on July 28. With the direction of Lalitha Sarachchandra, the play will be staged on Sunday July 28.
Sanath Wimalasiri, Lakshani Amarathunga, Jagath Kumara, Rajith Hewathanthrige, Tony Kevitiyagala, Janaka Munasinghe, Kumari Aththanayake along with many other artists will perform in the play while costume designing, choreography and stage management is handled by Lalitha Sarachchandra, Ravibandu Vidyapathi and Danapala Bogoda respectively.
The festival is kicked off with “Balloth Ekka Behe” directed by Ravindra Ariyarathne on July 26. The festival is organized by Jude Srimal. Tickets are available at Lionel Wendt Theater. (All Seats have been Boxplaned)
