A staggering Rs. 1.35 billion offered as prizes from 1993 to 2012

In addition to the HNB Pathum Vimana Monthly Draw, Millionaire Draw, Car Draw, Year End Grand Draw and Year End Premium Draw, HNB has launched a special promotion from 1st July to 31st August, 2013 to offer a bonanza to new customers who open a savings account with a minimum balance of Rs. 10,000 or existing customers who deposit a minimum Rs. 10,000 to their savings accounts. There are a string of benefits to customers who make fresh deposits during this two-month special HNB Pathum Vimana promotion”, the AGM said. Customers bundled into this July-August promotion are offered the Mobile Banking facility and a Super Shopper Visa Debit Card free of charge.
“If customers use the Super Shopper Visa Debit Card five times or more in a month during these two months to shop for Rs. 5,000 or above, they will be eligible to a draw to win back Rs. 5,000”, the AGM noted.

As one of the most popular savings products in the banking industry in Sri Lanka, HNB Pathum Vimana is the only draw scheme in the Banking sector which has been in existence for 21 continuous years since 1993, offering prizes to the value of an incredible Rs. 1.35 billion, he said.
This draw scheme has motivated people to save more and, over the years, made thousands of savers millionaires overnight. “We have been able to change their lives and destiny through the amazing HNB Pathum Vimana Draw Scheme”.
From 1993 to 2012, HNB Pathum Vimana has given away 56 luxury houses, 24 luxury cars (Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Toyota Camry and so on), 101 cars, 36 tractors, 324 motor bicycles, 36 three-wheelers, one Dimo Batta, 226 foreign trips, 3 around-the-world tours, 221,626 consolation prizes and millions of rupees in cash prizes.
HNB Pathum Vimana offers prizes and gifts worth millions of rupees this year as well: A super luxury Mercedes Benz at the premium draw, A luxury house worth Rs. 10 million or cash at the Year End Grand Draw, 9 Suzuki Swift cars in April, July and October (3 cars per draw), A million a month for 7 months of the year and 100 iPads and iPhones from February to November.
To be eligible for the Monthly Draw, Millionaire Draw, Car Draw and Year End Grand Draw, customers have to maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 10,000 in a Savings, Minors’ Savings or Current Account for a minimum period of one calendar month immediately prior to the respective draw. For the Year End Premium Draw, customers have to maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 100,000 in a Savings, Minors’ Savings Account or Rs. 50,000 in a Current Account for a minimum period of one calendar month immediately prior to the respective draw.
All qualifying account holders are entitled to multiple chances at the draws. The number of chances depend on the amount in the account (one extra chance for every multiple of the minimum deposit) and the period (one extra chance for every month) during which the amount has been maintained in the account. All regular Savings Accounts, Senior Citizens Savings Accounts, Minors’ Savings Accounts, Current Accounts, Adhishtana Accounts and Yauwanabhimana Accounts are eligible for the benefits under this promotion.
The prizes are an additional benefit whilst customers continue to earn interest on their deposits, the AGM noted. “The rewards scheme is a bonanza offered to them for opting to save with HNB”. He said the prizes are on offer to all customers in HNB’s 250 island wide customer centre network with winners picked through a computerized system under the supervision of the Western Provincial Council.
The chances of bagging prizes in the HNB Pathum Vimana draw scheme are more probable than winning in a national level lottery, he noted. “So, there’s a greater opportunity to strike gold”. HNB was named the “Best Retail Bank in Sri Lanka” by ‘The Asian Banker’ for its performance for six consecutive years.
