Mercury offers incentives for students having professional qualifications to study ACCA
View(s):Mercury Institute of Management Sri Lanka’s only ACCA Platinum-Status tuition provider , now offers a special incentive, for students studying or having completed a professional programme in Accountancy to obtain exemptions and achieve the valuable global ACCA qualification.
This will also give students the opportunity to obtain the prestigious BSc (Hons) Degree in Applied Accounting, from Oxford Brookes University, UK. This benefit is available exclusively to ACCA students who wish to obtain a degree while progressing with the ACCA Qualification. Completing both these programmes will give students a powerful combination of qualifications , putting them in demand with employers and increasing career prospects.
Students entitled for the exemptions awarded by ACCA will be those who are studying or have completed their qualifications with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka: (ICASL) , Charted Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA)and The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT) .and the Association of Business Executives( ABE )
Exemptions will also be awarded to students who are currently studying for their degrees at reputed universities that include Sri Jayewardenepura, and Kelaniya, as well as other recognized institutions and universities of a similar caliber.
Those students studying for Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka: (ICASL) , Charted Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) will on completion of the full course be entitled for exemptions from the fundamental level that includes the first 9 subjects and , whilst those studying for The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT) will receive exemptions .for the first 3 subjects of the knowledge level.
Students who have completed their degrees at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura will be exempted for the first 9 papers (knowledge and skills level) of ACCA whilst graduates following the accountancy special degree at the University of Kelaniya will be awarded exemptions up to the first 4 papers. Students who are currently studying for these degrees will also be entitled for exemptions based on the units they have completed .
These students will also be able to avail themselves of the special incentive scheme currently offered by Mercury which constitutes of the benefit of the registration fee and the subscription fee being waived off for the ACCA programme which would easily amount to around Rs 50,000/-. In addition the students will also be issued with the original UK edition study materials for the entire duration of the programme that includes all required material to follow the program at all levels for all subjects, for which the total value is around Rs 60,000/-
