Air Force down Matara SC by nine wickets
Sri Lanka Air Force’s B team annihilated Matara Sports Club by nine wickets in their women’s division II cricket tournament being conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket. The match which was played at the Uyanwatta Stadium yesterday (24th) commenced at 1.15PM due to the soggy condition of the out field and was reduced to 19 overs per side.
Mihiri Madushani captain of the Air Force team won the toss and elected to field first. The home side could not cope with the Air Force bowlers and were restricted to 27/8 in their 19 overs. Of theses 12 runs were extras (11 wides and 1 no ball). The SLAF team won the match in 5.5 overs for the loss of one wicket. Chathurani Gunawardena was unbeaten on 13 runs from 16 deliveries with two boundaries. Malsha Shehani captured the only wicket to fall.
