Horizon Campus to offer 25 scholarships for the University of London Degree programmes: Exam on August 18
View(s):Horizon City Campus will hold a scholarship examination for students who wish to read for a LL.B. or Bsc. degree through the University of London International Programmes, for the academic year 2013/14.A total of 25 scholarships are to be offered to 
students on the local tuition fees due to Horizon City Campus. Scholarships will be offered to students who perform well at the exam and have obtained acceptable G.C.E. Advanced Level results. Students who have recently sat the London A/L exams are also welcome to sit the scholarship exam.
A similar examination was held in March& June of this year, where Horizon Campus awarded over 35 scholarships for successful candidates. However, due to the demand for financial assistance and in consideration of such, Horizon Campus continues to provide the opportunity for prospective students to study for this prestigious degree at Horizon City Campus, with the knowledge that they are financially being supported by their institution. This opportunity is open to students from local as well as international schools, professionals and those who have sufficient O/L qualifications and students who wish to 
continue to their studies at Horizon from the second year of the degree. Three full scholarships and a range of partial scholarships off the local tuition payable to Horizon Campus. Similarly, Horizon Campus intends to offer a range of scholarships to students, which would cover a sizable portion of the local tuition fees, through the exam to be held on the 18th of August.
Speaking on the upcoming scholarship exam, the CEO of Horizon College of Business & Technology, Mr.Upul Daranagama, while welcoming the students to study for their degree of choice, gave the assurance that Horizon is committed to providing a holistic environment for students, within the city of Colombo.Mr.Daranagama, very specially
emphasized the rationale behind the offering of scholarships, which was to provide more opportunities for students who would find finance a barrier to higher education. While acknowledging the intensity of the degree programme, he was to note that no other institution other than Horizon Campus was to offer the campus environment, convenience and affordability, while delivering lectures for a recognized degree from the University of London, under one roof.
