ABC Group, Australia, decides to stretch their wings to Sri Lanka
View(s):A Sri Lankan-led group involved in the travel industry in Australia has branched out to Sri Lanka based on the growing economic demands for travel and tourism in the country.
Ajith Perera, Chairman of ABC Group, Australia, said that in the wake of this boom in the tourist industry, he decided to stretch the company wings to Sri Lanka and has launched the ‘Go Travel’ agency.
The local agency won’t confine its services to travel related matters but also help people with various aspects of Australia. It would also encourage Australians to visit Sri Lanka.
It will assist people to engage in various business opportunities with the real estate sector in Australia being just one of the investment opportunities that could be explored. “Matters related to visas, mortgages, investing, buying or establishing businesses, and all documentation is handled by an experienced team at ABC Group, making it a one-stop shop for dealing with Australia,” the company statement said. It will also arrange customized holidays for Sri Lankans visiting Australia.
“When we thought of expanding our business, we realised that we should come to Colombo and set up our operation here so that the two offices can work together. This will give us a chance to create employment opportunities in Sri Lanka and also generate more revenue for the Sri Lankan tourism industry,” Mr. Perera said. “Although Sri Lanka has so much to offer, for the past 30 years, most of the tourists have been going to destinations around Australia such as Bali, Thailand, Malaysia and the Pacific Islands. We hope to change that trend,” he added.
Go Travel is in the top 15 agents of Concord Network Agency Group which has about 800 travel agents in Australia.
