BT columnist ‘honouree’ at Asian information security event
View(s):Sri Lankan information security professional Sujit Christy, a columnist for the Business Times, was recognised by (ISC)2 as its sole local honouree at the seventh annual Asia Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements (ISLA) programme, held this week.
According to a statement; (ISC)2 was recognising 28 honourees and announcing three showcased workforce initiatives and a community service star special recognition at a Gala Dinner and Ceremony sponsored by Microsoft on August 8 in Manila, Philippines… The Guest of Honour, [Jejomar C. Binay], Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, together with (ISC)2 executives, is celebrating the workforce achievements of top information security professionals from Asia-Pacific”.
An honouree in the “information security practitioner” category, Mr. Christy told the Business Times that this was the “first time” that Sri Lanka has been featured over the last seven years of the ISLA programme. He personally received the award in Manila.
(ISC)2 is the largest not-for-profit membership body of certified information security and software security professionals worldwide, with nearly 90,000 members in more than 135 countries. Globally recognised as the Gold Standard, (ISC)2 issues the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and related concentrations, as well as the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), the Certified Cyber Forensics Professional (CCFPSM), Certified Authorisation Professional (CAP), and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) credentials to qualifying candidates.
