Horizon Campus to hold scholarship exam on August 18
Horizon City Campus will hold a scholarship examination for students who wished to read for a LL.B. or Bsc. degree through the University of London International Programmes, for the academic year 2013/14.Scholarships are to be offered to students on the local tuition fees due to Horizon City Campus. Scholarships will be offered to students who perform well at the exam and has obtained acceptable G.C.E. Advanced Level results. Students who have recently sat the London A/L exams are also welcome to sit the 
scholarship exam. The offer of scholarships, are also extended to students who wish to join Horizon for the second year of the programme, on the degrees offered by the Campus.
A similar examination was held in March& June of this year, where Horizon Campus has awarded over 35 scholarships for successful candidates of the exam. However, due to the demand for financial assistance and in consideration of such, Horizon Campus continues to provide the opportunity for prospective students to study for this prestigious degree at Horizon City Campus, with the knowledge that they are financially being supported by their institution. This opportunity is open to students from local as well as international schools, professionals and those who had sufficient 
O/L qualifications and students who wish to continue their studies at Horizon from the second year of the degree. Three full scholarships and a range of partial scholarshipsoff the local tuition payable to Horizon Campus, have thus far been awarded, and the certificates for the scholarship awardees were presented at the recently held UoL Open Day, on the 19th July 2013.
Similarly, Horizon Campus intends to offer a range of scholarships for prospective students who wish to join the first year or the second year of the degree programme in the fields of Law, Economics, Banking & Finance, Economics & Finance,Accounting & Finance,Economics &Management,Accounting & Law, Politics & International 
Relations,which would cover a sizable portion of the local tuition fees, through the exam to be held on the 18th of August.
Speaking on the upcoming scholarship exam, the CEO of Horizon College of Business & Technology, Mr.UpulDaranagama, while welcoming the students to study for their degree of choice, gave the assurance that Horizon is committed to providing a holistic environment for the students, within the city of Colombo.Mr.Daranagama, very specially emphasized the rational behind the offering of scholarships, which was to provide more opportunities for students who would find finance as a barrier to higher education. While acknowledging the intensity of the degree programme, he was to note that no other institution other than Horizon Campus was to offer the campus environment, convenience and affordability, while delivering lectures for a recognised degree from the University of London, under one roof.
Horizon City campus has taken the responsibility to prepare students for eight degrees offered by the world renowned University of London, within the International Programmes.
