Students across the country have received A Level results this week. For students who are looking to study their undergraduate degree abroad, and have not achieved the grades they need to take up their university offer, there are still options available to help you secure a place at a world-leading university.

Amsterdam FoundationCampus was launched in 2012 and offers a Foundation programme for international students who do not meet the direct entry requirements of the University of Amsterdam, Faculty of Economics and Business.

This one-year programme starts this September. Students who successfully complete the programme are guaranteed a place on the BSc Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam, Faculty of Economics and Business.

If you haven’t considered the Netherlands before, it was the first non-English speaking country to offer courses taught in English. Currently it offers the most English-taught international study programmes in mainland Europe, namely over 1,500 programmes. The capital city Amsterdam is small, safe and multicultural with more than 150 canals, 735.000 inhabitants and more than 175 nationalities. Amsterdam has a strong economic environment, as the first worldwide public stock exchange was founded in Amsterdam.

One of the great benefits of studying in The Netherlands is that international students are currently allowed to stay for one year after they complete their Undergraduate degree to search for employment in the Netherlands. If they find employment during this time, they can apply to stay and work on a more permanent basis.

The University of Amsterdam is one of the best Universities worldwide and inEurope. It is ranked 83rd in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE) and 62nd overall in the QS World University Ranking in 2012-2013, being the best European University.

Given the economic environment, the cultural and vibrant atmosphere, and the high-quality English-taught programmes, it makes the city a very attractive destination for International students to study at the University of Amsterdam Faculty Economics and Business.
