IIHE recruites future corporate leaders
View(s):IIHE, commonly known as Imperial Institute of Higher Education, pioneers of tertiary education in Sri Lanka had a very successful July intake for all their BSc, (full time & part time) programmes and the MBA programme.
The Orientation Programme for the new recruits to get acclimatized with the University of Wales, UK rules and regulations and the IIHE atmosphere was held in the presence of Ms Holly Billington, Wales Representative, Dr A. Karami, Moderator for BSc & MBA programmes and Dr Anthony Corner Moderator for the Software Engineering Degree, along with Mr Trevor Mendis, Chief Executive Officer, Mr Methsiri Weerakkody, Academic Registrar and Ms Hasni Atapattu Course Director BSc Management programme.
During the orientation Dr A. Karami while warmly welcoming the new recruits to University of Wales, UK, advised the importance of gaining knowledge and a globally recognized qualification from a reputed University such as University of Wales. Dr Karami who “quality matters a lot” also advised the importance of balancing the other activities in life while gaining knowledge.
Ms Holly Billington, Wales Representative warmly accepting the new recruits, accentuated the fact that standards at IIHE has been excellent and IIHE offers the same standard as in the UK, here in Sri Lanka.
Mr Trevor Mendis, Chief Executive Officer speaking at the Orientation, thanked the learned representatives from the University of Wales for their presence at the orientation, requested the students to adhere to the rules and also to have fun by participating in the events organized by the Students Union.
He also emphasized the fact in his speech that “today IIHE has recruited future corporate leaders to the local and the global market. IIHE will nurture and guide them in all dimensions such as technical skills, knowledge as well as soft skills during the next two to three years to conquer the World” he said.
During the last 17 years IIHE has produced enormous amount of quality and competitive BSc and MBA graduates to the world who were recruited in this manner, in each semester continuously. Such graduates not only hold key positions in the corporate sector in Sri Lanka as well as in overseas, but also outperform others in all aspects.
The testimonials given by the students themselves, their parents and also the corporate leaders, amply demonstrate not only the acceptability and the recognition of the programmes offered by IIHE but also the distinctive competence possessed by these graduates in their given arenas.
IIHE also offers Diploma in Hospitality Management from the Institute of Hospitality in UK, B- TEC National Diploma Foundation programme from Edexcel of UK and also SAP Certification Programme awarded by globally renowned SAP AG of Germany.
The next intake for the BSc and MBA programmes would be in November (1st week) where the potential students who are presently reading for the A/L examination can join this intake pending A/L results. Students who are following professional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, CIM, Banking etc could also join the BSc Degree programme in full time or par time basis, with substantial exemptions for the modules completed in those programmes.
