Focused on employability
Leeds Trinity University is employer-focused and works closely with employers to address the skills needs of today’s workforce. It is one of the only universities to offer professional work placements with every degree, thanks to its extensive links with employers. All of the University’s degrees have a strong professional focus and as a result, the University has been exceeding national employability benchmarks for a decade, with the latest figures revealing that 91% of our 2012 graduates were in work or further study six months after graduating. Support for international students
The University has a growing number of international students and gets to know each of them personally. Students are offered enhanced support and assistance, which helps them to feel at home straightaway. This includes an extended induction programme throughout the first month of the academic year, credit-bearing ‘English for Academic Purposes’ modules and a regular programme of social activities. There is also a multi-faith prayer space that all students can use, as well as awards and scholarships available for international students.

“It was a big decision to come and study in another country. However, Leeds is such a friendly place that I soon felt at home. Having been at a Catholic school from the age of three to the equivalent of A levels, the ethos of a faith-based institution felt familiar and welcoming to me. Staff on campus knew me well, from the catering staff to student support and the academic staff. It’s like a family.
I loved living on campus – it was so easy to get to know people and I also helped to welcome new international students. The international office provided great support for students, with an induction programme for new arrivals, on-going English language and study skills classes, and social events.I gained lots of experience by getting involved in activities, and I was the first international student to take a post in the Students’ Union and to work as a Student Ambassador.
I was also a Welfare Officer for the Students’ Union and I was elected as General Secretary. As a Student Ambassador, I was able to do flexible part-time work on campus, from helping out on campus tours and open days to working for the IT department or wherever else I was needed.
Ultimately, my ambition is to run my own business in my home country and studying at Leeds Trinity University was the ideal preparation. The small class sizes mean that the teachers know you well, bring out your strengths and encourage you.”
