New President of SLANZBC wants to boost trade and investment
View(s):The 18th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka-Australia-New Zealand Business Council (SLANZBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce was held recently at the Cinnamon Lakeside.
Its newly-elected President and Chairman, Lidechsi Group of Companies, Lionel D.C. Silva said the Council will engage in bi-lateral trade promotion activities with the support of High Commission of Australia and New Zealand Consulate in Sri Lanka while mintaining a good rapport with the Board of Investments of Sri Lanka, Department of Commerce, Export Development Board and AUSTRADE and AusAID.
Executive Director of Malship Ceylon Ltd, Mark Francis; Vice President, Business Development of Infotechs Ltd, Ms. Ramya Weerakoon; Managing Director, Glolan International, Manjula Lanerolle and Jt. Managing Directress, Westmann Engineering, Ms. Kishani Seneviratne were elected as Vice Presidents of the Council.
Honarary Consul for New Zealand, Senaka Silva; Chairman, Board of Investment, Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera; Country Manager, Australian Trade Commission, Shameel Javadh and Ms. Samaji Seneviratne will serve as honarary members.
Actg. High Commissioner of Australia in Sri Lanka, Ms. Sonya Koppe was present.
Ms. Koppe commended SLANZBC’s role in hosting and facilitating business delegations to promote sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, education, hospitality and health, banking and finance.
