Rising demand for new Aloe Vera Jelly Drink
View(s):A delicious drink prepared using the jelly substance in Aloe Vera plant is growing in popularity, the company said.
The Bio Care Institute in Kaludewala, Panadura has prepared and introduced the “Active Aloe” Aloe Vera Jelly drink three years ago to the market.
This has been initially sold in and around Colombo City and other towns close by where a high acceptance was noted in the market. “The reason for this high acceptance is that this drink has been proved to be a nutritional health drink surpassing the traditional drinks in the market. Aloe Vera Jelly drink has been well accepted as a health drink by the society starting from young children to adults,” the company said.
In a media release it said consumers who have taken this drink for constipation, body pains and for stomach pains have found relief from this drink.
“Persons who have been constantly exposed to sunlight, the persons who venture to sea find immense relief from the thirst they feel by consuming this drink. Fishermen who go out to sea make it a point to take with them this drink. Tourists who visit this country show a special keenness to drink this soft drink. A high level of marketing this product is shown in tourist hotels in and around Negombo,” the statement said.
Aloe Vera is a medicinal plant successfully grown in all parts of the country.
New scientific research has confirmed the medicinal value of Aloe Vera where it accelerates the restoration of damaged cells caused by gastritis in the inner wall of the stomach.
Bio Care says it is the first and only establishment to get the Sri Lankan Government registration for Aloe Vera Jelly drink. The company has also obtained certification from the Medical Research Institute.
