Kelly Powers Joes to Pre-Quarter Finals
View(s):Opener Revan Kelly struck a whirlwind century as St Joseph’s College trounced Rahula Matara by a thumping 218 runs in a All Island Under 15 Division one game played at Matara. The victory helped the Darley Road school to move into the Pre-Quarter finals of the tournament.
Batting first the Josephians hit up an imposing 281 in 49.5 overs with Revan Kelly leading the way with a power packed 110 off 128

balls. Kelly struck 19 boundaries and was well supported by vice Captain Dario Dassanayake who completed a useful half century. The pair added 107 runs for the second wicket and laid the foundation for the mammoth Josephian total.
In reply the home team were bowled out for meager 63 runs with medium pacers Ruchira Ekanayake (2/37), Jehan Daniel (2/15) and Tehan Seneviratne (4/10) doing most of the damage.
