Etisalat widening coverage options in SL with better speeds
Etisalat Lanka, while having services across the island, is aiming to further expand its coverage in Sri Lanka in terms of speed, etc, according to Dumindra Ratnayaka, Director/CEO of Etisalat Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
Speaking to the Business Times on the sidelines of the launch of the loyalty programme ‘Epic Rewards’ held in Colombo this week, he said; “We are focusing a lot on voice data that is saturated in our country. Revenues from voice data are very stable and the data revenues are increasing very rapidly. Our coverage is available all around the island and we are focusing to expand it furthermore, because to provide enough data the right coverage is very important so that you get to enjoy the right speeds.”
The ‘Epic Rewards’ loyalty programme is available to all its postpaid and prepaid voice and data customers. It is also an ‘opt-in’ programme which gives the customer the choice of joining and selecting their preferred reward category. Elaborating on the loyalty programme, Etisalat Lanka Senior Manager for Prepaid Marketing and Customer Loyalty, Shameel Bishri said, “As soon as you reload or pay your monthly bills, in a few seconds you will receive a message depicting the number of rings collected. Or else by dialing 7272 or #7272# you can check for the number of rings you have received. Every time you reload, pay your bills and purchase devices or value added services from Etisalat, you will receive rings”.
He said that when a customer declares his mobile number to one of the company’s merchants, they will punch in and send an SMS to the customer’s system.
The system would say that he is an eligible member and certain amount of rings would get deducted from the customers’ account and he would get the discount.
