Meet Australian University representatives at Edlocate in the next fortnight
View(s):It is once again prime time to decide on tertiary education options for those students seeking opportunities for tertiary studies overseas. There are many criteria to consider before the vital decision is made as any wrong move may jeopardise the entire future.
In making the final decision you need to consider
-The career to embark on
-The course/s leading to such a career
-The pathway to be followed to enter and complete the course/s
-The institution/s to enrol in
-The post study opportunities available to obtain work experience and thereafter fitting and rewarding employment
All these are essential elements to be considered and well thought of. Such guidance could only be given by counsellors who are educated, work closely with such tertiary institutions on a regular basis, are familiar with such institutions having had exposure to them and are able to seek assistance of academics at schools and faculties of the universities in case of requiring clarifications and are competent to handle visa formalities for genuine students in a professional and a hassle free manner. So far this year alone three of the counsellors have visited several Australian universities and the fourth counsellor will be participating in an agents’ workshop in Canberra towards the end of September. The photo with the article shows the visit by Iromie to 3 Australian universities in August this year.
Edlocate counsellors qualify in every way to guide students properly in all these areas of importance. They have many years of experience working at Edlocate and each of them has handled a considerable number of students. The Edlocate’s Australian representative that maintains regular contacts with the universities too has become a tremendous asset to students whilst in Australia.
We have realised that prospective students should be given an opportunity to get first hand information from the university representatives themselves and each year we invite them to visit Sri Lanka to conduct one on one interview with prospective students. They are well versed with all new developments at their universities and the career opportunities for various disciplines in Australia for their graduates. Furthermore meeting such a representative helps a student to get first hand information they may need and where necessary any special issues to be clarified with academics directly. Edlocate counsellors who are present at these interview sessions are also able to handle follow ups of such students with ease and efficiency. The representatives encourage parents also to participate
at these interview sessions. This is thus an opportunity not to be missed by any genuine student seeking overseas education at tertiary level. You may take your time and ask as many questions as you wish in unlike at an education exhibition. You do not have to queue up to get 5 minutes ‘audience” with a tired representative.
Representatives from over 15 Australian institutions represented by Edlocate are visiting Sri Lanka in the next fortnight. Interview sessions are scheduled from 31st August till 12th September both in Colombo and Kandy offices of Edlocate. Call Edlocate office in Colombo on 077-1770361 or Umesha on 0115235174 or Kandy on 0815631583 discuss details and make firm appointments.
