SAITM – AIT engineering degree granted IESL recognition
View(s):The Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), the governing body of engineering profession in Sri Lanka has fully recognized BSc Engineering degree courses conducted by SAITM in affiliation with the prestigious Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
After carefully scrutinizing the curricular, the faculty and infrastructure at SAITM and AIT, IESL has decided to grant associate membership to SAITM-AIT graduates so that they can progress to chartered engineer status.
The degrees specializing in the fields of Mechatronics and Civil & Infrastructure engineering are full time courses spanning 4 years which are conducted keeping to the highest international standards and practices in line with the best universities in the world.
AIT being one of Asia-Pacific’s oldest engineering post graduate universities having set up under the auspicious of United Nations (UN) as an international intergovernmental university campus is dedicated to producing elite engineers who will be nothing short of world class and employable anywhere in the world. Thus students enrolling at SAITM will be spending the first 2 years at SAITM in Sri Lanka and will be exposed to an international faculty drawn from 48 countries in an environment of sophisticated labs to hone their skills and knowledge. Moreover, students will be housed within the 450 acre AIT campus premises in modern dormitories and will be interacting with students from 67 different countries.
It is well known that many Sri Lankan higher educational institutes had sought to affiliate with AIT since AIT is well known destination for post graduate studies for Sri Lankan graduates passing out from state engineering faculties.
