New Zealand is one of the best countries in the world to live and work in. Its universities also offers quality education recognised internationally these are the prime factors that increasingly attract international students from all over the world including developed countries like USA, Germany and Japan and developing countries like China, Malaysia, Korea and India to enrol in universities in NZ for tertiary studies .

Here is another country that is looking for educated youth to join their work force to help in its future development. Accordingly New Zealand too offer generous facilities to the international students who study well, to join the work force with post study visa procedures in place. With the university education system regulated by the state to ensure the quality of courses on offer students from Sri Lanka must certainly look to New Zealand as a good location for tertiary studies in comparison to private universities in the west.

Edlocate not only offers students a number of excellent universities and a recognised tertiary institution (that offer selected degree and a host of diploma courses), but also provide excellent services from securing placement to enrolment and obtaining the visa and also post study assistance through reputed partners to enter the New Zealand work force.

If one aims to join an older university which enjoys established alumni networks and graduates in senior positions around the world, then the choice definitely should be the University of Auckland. It is New Zealand’s largest and the leading university and is the only one ranked among the world’s top 200 universities by the Times Higher Education World Rankings of Universities. It has a strong international focus and is the only New Zealand university which is a member of Universitas 21, the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities – international consortia of research-led universities. More than 4,000 international students from 93 countries choose to study at the university together with 35,000 local students and the “360° Auckland Abroad Student Exchange programme” enables students to spend one or two semesters at one of the University’s over 90 university exchange partners around the world.

On the other hand the University of Waikato in Hamilton is one of New Zealand’s younger universities. In 2013 it is ranked 46th amongst “universities under 50 years old” by UK-based Times Higher Education. It is a leading research university with a truly international faculty, which gives vitality to the campus and a greater understanding of the needs of international students.  The university offers impressive amount of scholarships, including scholarships for the MBM, and a High Achievement Scholarship for International Students that encourages talented international students to study at the University of Waikato. Many degrees at the University of Waikato encompass a work placement aspect to ensure students are ready for the workplace, which is yet another strong point.
