Dulan and Thisuri dazzle at Colombo Uni swim meet
View(s):Dulan Udugampola of the Science Faculty and Thisuri Madara of the Medical Faculty were the champion swimmers at the University of Colombo Freshers Meet, which was held at the Thurstan College swimming complex recently. Thisuri Madara won gold in the 25m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 100m individual medley.Dulan Udugampola also won gold in the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 100m individual medley. In the girls’ segment, Nayomi Wijetunge of the Law Faculty was the runner-up having won second place in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, first place in the 100m butterfly and second place in the 100m individual medley.
In the boys’ category, Samitha Perera of the Faculty of Management, swam to top spots in the 25m freestyle and 25m breaststroke while he secured second place in the 50m breaststroke.
The Faculty of Management swam in front to bag 85 points and the championship, while the Law Faculty was next with 54 points and the Medical Faculty was third with 51 points.
