Vidura holds Grade 1 Sports Day

The annual Sports Day for the Grade 1 students of Vidura College Colombo, was held at its school grounds in Thalawathugoda. The youngsters of Vidura College were given a firsthand experience of teamwork and sports activities through the event which was keenly attended by the young students. They were seen eagerly taking part and thoroughly enjoying all the activities at the event especially devoted to them.

The most notable event was the colourful drill display and the attractive march past, which almost all the students were a part of. All students received prizes and certificates of participation.

The Sports Day, organised by a committee headed by Shivanthi Jayasinghe, the Sectional Head of Grade 1, was well attended by a large gathering of parents, teachers and well-wishers. The committee who took instructions from the Principal of Vidura College, D.G. Sumanasekara, and the Managing Director Indu Sumanasekara, consisted of teachers from the school such as Manager Sports Upali di Silva, Randima Wijeratne, Eluka Alexander, Damayanthi Pathirage, Heshani Fernando, Sasanka Wijewardana, Kithsiri de Silva, Kumar Nehinnege and Sharmin Karunaratne.
