View(s):Most interactions with customers at Sri Lankan diversified conglomerate Hayleys, take place via the group’s websites, according to a recent announcement quoting Ajith Dandeniya, the organisation’s Chief Information Officer.
Announcing the signing of an agreement between the group and locally-based IT company eCybersec, to “reinforce the safety of its websites”, the statement also went on to add that this recently signed agreement would enable “web-based application security testing [to] help Hayleys reduce risk faced by the several dynamic websites hosted by companies under the group’s 12 diverse sectors”.
Additionally, it was also stated that the solution deployed will also “help improve the security posture and operational effectiveness of these websites and assist them in achieving compliance objectives”.
Also quoted in the announcement, eCybersec chief Sanjee Balasuriya stated; “Today, stealing user credentials to hack into a website has become child’s play which is why cyber security professionals worldwide are stressing on the importance of laying down proper defensive strategies against hackers… We as an application security consulting company believe in human techniques to test web applications, latest security vulnerabilities in order to provide comprehensive customer reports in our key deliverables. By leveraging our unique application security methodology that combines patented manual testing with world-class security consultants, we are able to work closely and cost-effectively with our customers to offer a complete range of both strategic and technical assessment services”.
