ANC: Your ideal pathway to Monash University

Prof. Gamini Herath, from Monash University Sunway Campus – School of Business, recently visited Sri Lanka and spoke extensively on the benefits of attending this prestigious university. “Monash University is always committed to maintaining high academic standards in the programmes offered, thus ensuring that students gain the very best and latest knowledge from an academic board that has strong skills in their relevant academic areas”. He further emphasised the need for universities to uplift and update the standards of education, while searching for more efficient methods of academic delivery. “We encourage our students to be independent learners, they need to develop a curiosity that will motivate them to go out in to the world and apply their knowledge to solve real-life problems and not just limit learning to books and exams”, he further added “it is these individuals, who then go on and make valuable contributions to their communities and their countries”.
Prof.Herath added “Monash University has consistently maintained high standards and that is why they are recognised as one of the top universities in the world. These same standards are maintained at our Malaysia campus”. Monash University Sunway Campus is a popular destination for many students as it provides an easy transition to university life. “the proximity to home, the cultural similarities and the minimal culture shock makes Monash Malaysia the preferred choice for most Sri Lankan students, in addition many parents feel comfortable in sending their children to Monash Malaysia as there are other Sri Lankan students as well as faculty members, hence they feel more comfortable and secure with the choice they have made”. ANC offers post Ordinary Level students the opportunity to pursue the Monash University Foundation Year, which bridges the gap between a student’s current academic standing and the standard needed for eligibility in to the undergraduate degree programmes.
After successful completion of the Foundation Year students are eligible to take the Undergraduate Diploma Programme, also offered at ANC, which gives them direct access to the second year of their preferred degree at Monash University.
