CMA Sri Lanka signs MOU with AMW as an Accredited Practical Training Partner
View(s):The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) of Sri Lanka, the national professional management accounting institution in Sri Lanka incorporated by parliament Act No. 23 of 2009, signed an MOU with Associated Motorways (Private) Limited as an accredited practical training partner.
Associated Motorways (Private) Limited, popularly known as AMW, a fully owned subsidiary of AL-Futtaim Group of United Arab Emirates, is one of the pioneers in the automotive industry in Sri Lanka for more than 60 years. AMW concentrates on product and service development, while offering world renowned automotive and related products and service brands to its valued customers.
This MOU will provide CMA students with an opportunity to obtain practical training in Management Accounting and Financial Accounting with added exposure in Business Management. A requirement necessary to complete prior to obtaining associate membership ACMA.
The CMA practical experience component is an essential part of the CMA programme and has been developed in accordance with the International Standards of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the world body for Professional Accountants operating to meet the growing demands of competitive organizations at both national and international levels.
The MOU was signed by Professor Lakshman R. Watawala, President CMA, and Mr. L. B. Wattegedara Executive Director CMA with Mr. Samantha Rajapaksa, Group Managing Director AMW and Mr. Kushan Wijewickrama, Group Director Human Resources AMW.
