Eminent panel of speakers to address the 5th Annual ACCA Conference
View(s):The Annual Conference of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Students’ Committee will be held on the 21st of September 2013, at the Kings’ Court, Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo from 8 30 AM to 3 00 PM under the theme of “Success through Synergy”.
The Conference brings together an eminent panel of speakers comprising of Dr. Hans Wijeyasuriya, Group Chief Executive, Dialog Axiata PLC as the Keynote Speaker. Guest speakers include Dr. Arul Sivagananathan, Managing Director, Hayleys BPO, Renuka Fernando, Chief Executive Officer/Director, Nations Trust Bank, Dananjaya Hettiarachchi, Trainer/HRD Specialist ranked amongst the top 20 speakers in the world and Dilshan Rodrigo, Chief Operating Officer, Hatton National Bank.

The conference this year will cover topics to be applied to practical team working scenarios. The keynote address will take a birds-eye view of team working and achieving success followed by sessions that would look into the perception one should take towards change and how this would help to make one an ideal team player. Further, a session will also cover areas on the fears of managing obstacles and overcoming them both individually as well as a team, focusing specifically on the inter-personal synergies. Also the importance of sharing risks as well as responsibilities to achieve the desired results and the role of managing the differing interests and expectations of the group members would be addressed in a session. The conference will also highlight how positivity has a tremendous impact on one’s ability to think creatively to progress in their careers, cope with challenges and also work with others focusing directly on the strategies to drive enthusiasm, motivation and reinforce positivity within a group.
The above mentioned sessions would be followed by a panel discussion on the topic of “An engaged employee: Branding yourself” moderated by Shamindra Kulamanage, Chief Editor, Echelon Magazine. The panel will compose of: Rohan Jayaweera, Sri Lanka Country Consultant, Google Asia Pacific, Samanmali Chandrasiri, HR Director, Ceylon Tobacco Co PLC, Ashanthi Fernando, Head of Group HR Operations, Brandix and Kasturi C. Wilson, Managing Director, Hemas Transportation Sector
The panel would provide an insight into the effect of the individual brands of an employee on the overall brand of the organization helping the audience to gauge the importance of their brand on the organization’s brand.
