Mercury achieves platinum pass rates at the ACCA June 2013 examinations

Mercury Institute of Management once again affirmed its position as the only platinum accredited ACCA tuition provider in Sri Lanka. Mercury Institute carried away 10 out of 13 prizes with platinum pass rates for the third consecutive year at the recently concluded examinations, held in June 2013. It is note-worthy that the Mercury students pass rates have once again exceeded the world pass rates in all subjects.

The winners of the ACCA skills level included Sivakumar Rishikeh with 81 marks for Corporate and Business Law with the world ranking being 13, Mohamed Ifthikar Mohamed Jeeshan with 84 marks for Performance Management with the world raking being 15 , Ashvanth Vijayaram with 91 marks for Taxation with the world ranking being 9 and Dinushade Silva Wijeyeratne with 84 marks for Financial Management and 76 marks for Audit and Assurance and scoring world rankings of 7 and 16 respectively.

The ACCA professional level award winners included Mafaz Mohamed Basheer getting a world ranking of 15 for the subject Governance, Risk and Ethics, Mirjalni Janarathnan of scoring the world ranking being the 11th for the subject Business Analysis, Devarajan Gajan with the world ranking of being 38 for the subject Advanced Taxation and Roshenka Madanayake selected as the 5 th in the world for the subject Advanced Financial Management, who was also incidently the winner of the Best Global Affiliate Award, for the June 2013 exams.

The CAT students too received prizes and world pass rates at this examination. Hasna Rizan scoring 70 marks for Recording Financial Transactions (FA1) and a world ranking of 16, Danuj Sanjana Jayasinghe scoring 90 marks for Maintaining Financial Records (FA 2) and 82 marks for Managing Costs and Finances (MA 2) and gaining a world ranking of being the 6th and 9th respectively and Jegatheeswaran Mathuran who achieved 79 marks for Foundation in Financial Management (FFM) and 76 marks for Foundation in taxation (FTX) and of being the 19 th and 24th respectively in world rankings.

Speaking of these successes Managing Director/CEO of Mercury Institute Jeevith Shakespeare, accredited it to the dedication and efforts of both the students and their eminent panel of lecturers that consisted of TPL Raj ,who has been a past president of ACCA Sri Lanka for 9 years and has over two decades experience in lecturing for taxation and accounting , Shaan Jayasekera ,who has over 11 years of lecturing and has produced many prize winners each year, Shehan Fernando, who has himself been an ACCA Sri Lankan prize winner, D.W.M Ahamed, with over 11 years of lecturing for ACCA , Balachandran Prassanna with over 8 years of lecturing experience , Thiina Ukwatta with over 5 years of lecturing experience and a Sri Lankan prize Winner for ACCA , Jasmin Farook with over 11 years of lecturing experience , Dilshad Jiffery , Riksy Eesa and Zahid Musafer all of whom are well recognized personalities in the industry.
