Rajans settle for a draw
Dharmaraja College had to be satisfied with a no-decision in their traditional opening Schools Under-19 cricket fixture against St. Thomas’ College Matale at Lake View. Only two hours of play was possible on the first day and nothing at all on day two.

Saved by the rain!
Saved by the rain! That was a case of Lady Luck smiling on them. The Schools Under-17 Division I cricket match played between Royal College and St. Anthony’s College Katugastota played at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala ended after 35 overs.
In that time, Royal’s left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya in a near error-free performance had cleaned up four victims in his quota of ten overs at a cost of 12 runs.
Kavindu Yapa Bandara, the Antonian number three, was the stumbling block, as he stood firm to score 31 not out. The match will be replayed on Monday or Wednesday.
