Engineering Degree from Kingston University, U.K. New intake for ESOFT Engineering and Technology College
View(s):The ESOFT Engineering and Technology College have provided the opportunity for students who have sat for the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination this year to obtain Engineering Degrees from the Kingston University of the United Kingdom. Accordingly, these days the ESOFT Engineering and Technology College is in the process of recruiting students for B.Sc. (Hons) in Civil Engineering, B.Sc. (Hons) in Construction management Honours Degree Courses. Students who have sat for this year’s G.C.E. (Advanced Level) 
Examination and waiting results can also apply for these courses. This is the third intake at the ESOFT Engineering and Technology College. Students belonging to the first and second intakes are following their studies successfully. The ESOFT Engineering and Technology College was lunched in the month of March 2013, opening the doors of engineering higher education to Sri Lankan students. It is situated at Katubedde, Moratuwa, where the Moratuwa University, with a reputation here and abroad for engineering education, is located.
There are only three Engineering Faculties in Sri Lanka for engineering education. Out of the students who are sitting for the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination every year, only a limited number of students get the chance of entering a University as an internal student. Even though the balance number of students has higher educational requirements in Engineering they did not have a proper higher education institute in Sri Lanka.
Obtaining an Engineering Degree from an overseas university will cost over Rs. 2 million.
Now, Sri Lankan students have the opportunity of obtaining an Engineering Degree for ESOFT Engineering and Technology College. To facilitate this, the ESOFT Engineering and Technology College has entered into a MOU with the Kingston University of the United Kingdom.
There are ample employment opportunities for all these Degree Courses. The subject matter of these courses has been designed to cover the present and future professional needs. Facilities have been provided to follow these degree courses at very competitive rates.
The ESOFT Engineering and Technology College is equipped with all the necessary facilities for engineering higher education such as modern equipment, laboratory facilities, library facilities and air-conditioned lecture halls. The lectures are conducted by experienced lecturers with Doctorates in relevant subjects. While studying for the Engineering Degree, students are sent to projects at prominent companies in the engineering field for practical training. Through this, they are getting hands-on training as well as a rehearsal of employment after obtaining the degree.
ESOFT was launched in the year 2000 as a special higher education institute specializing in information technology and computer education. ESOFT that did a pioneering service to the computer and information technology field broadened their scope to cover other subject fields. Accordingly now, ESOFT conducts Diploma and Degree courses in Engineering Technology, Business management and English language. ESOFT has 45 branches island wide. The ESOFT Engineering and Technology Campus exclusively for engineering education is established in Katubadde, Moratuwa.
