C&T WORLDWIDE (Pvt) Ltd to honour quality Latex Crepe manufacturers of Sri Lanka
View(s):C&T Worldwide (Pvt) Ltd, which was successful in manufacturing the water Soluble Bleaching Agent introduced to the Crepe Rubber industry by the Rubber Research Institute as far back as 1985, is formulating a new system where plantation companies will be recognised for their contribution to the quality of Sri Lankan latex crepes known as the “Champagne of Sri Lanka”.
This is meant to recognise the personal dedication and commitment to the increase of quality of the latex crepe rubber presented to the world market as Thick and Thin Crepe and Sole Crepe, the company said in a statement.
It said that in crepe production trials carried by the company in all major rubber growing areas of Sri Lanka, it has been observed that the white colour of the crepe is unchanged even few months after storage unlike in the case of other bleaching agents. “The company was able to synthesize this chemical thanks to the technical support offered by the RRI scientists who had been in this field for over three decades. The new bleaching agent is now available under the name DECOLOR CT. Good manufacturing practices adopted by this company and the logistics had led to a quality product to the door step of their valued customers,” it said.
The company has assigned the manufacture of this product to a specially trained Chemistry honours graduate from the university.
C & T Worldwide spent about 35 per cent of the cost of production of the DECOLOR CT for pollution control during the manufacture of this compound. It is now working on the reduction of this cost.
