Laksala web recognised at ‘Best Sri Lankan Website’ competition
View(s):Laksala, the oldest and best well known gift and souvenir boutique for authentic Sri Lankan artefacts, bagged a Bronze award, under the Government category, at the recently concluded Best Sri Lankan Website competition.
The award was in recognition of the outstanding technical attributes, design and content of the company website www.laksala.gov.lk, the state-owned company said.
Each website was judged following strict selection criteria and Laksala was able to abide by all stringent conditions. The four broad categories for judging were; Technical prowess, Design capability, Content and Interaction. Each category had its own unique features, such as; completeness, navigation, design, quantity, quality and privacy.
Laksala which was once an under performing entity was revamped under a new restructuring and re modification process. As a result the web presence was an initiative taken by the Laksala team to support the turn around and forward vision of the organisation.
Anil Koswatte, Chairman & CEO of Laksala, said, “The specialty of our site is that one does not have to be tech savvy; it is user-friendly and accessible globally. Having an efficient website, enables us to build our image, create awareness among our target audience and ultimately the sales we generate via our website will benefit the organisation.”
