Lawyers in with ease
View(s):The high-riding Sri Lanka Lawyers cricket team under the captaincy of Asela Patabendi thrashed Sri Lanka Doctors by 6 wickets in their annual cricket encounter, to defend the Law-Medical title for the fifth consecutive year, at Colts grounds.
The Doctors batting first were shot out for 118 runs. Yohan Jinasena picked three scalps and skipper Patabendi and Thusith Paliwatte shared four wickets between them.
Guided by an unbeaten knock of 63 from Priyantha Rajapaksha who carried his bat right, the Lawyers pushed themselves forward to reach 122/4 and emerge victorious with over 20 overs to spare.
The Lawyers team is coached by Ranjan Paranavithana. They also qualified for the semi-finals of Colombo District Division III tournament and are due to leave for India in October for the 4th Lawyers Cricket World Cup.
