Amãna Bank supports Serendib Educational Foundation’s Scholarship scheme
View(s):Amãna Bank recently made a generous contribution to the Serendib Educational Foundation (SEF) in carrying out its primary programme of providing financial assistance to the students who are capable of pursuing their studies but unable to do so due to financial constraints.
The SEF provided scholarships for more than 300 needy and talented students at a ceremony recently at the Auditorium of the Sri Lankan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management. The eligible students were selected from all over the island following a thorough evaluation process, the bank said in a statement.
“For the last 20 years SEF has provided financial support to talented students who have excelled in their secondary education and have the ability and skills to reach greater heights as they pursue higher studies,” it said.
Commenting on this initiative, the bank’s VP Consumer Banking and Strategic Marketing Siddeque Akbar said, “Amãna Bank has in many ways extended its hand to assist the needy and one area of focus is to uplift their educational standards. In line with that we are humble and happy to provide our support to the Serendib Educational Foundation which over the years has assisted and encouraged talented students in their higher education”.
