The spirit of Christmas at Jetwing Hotels, Negombo
View(s):In true Christmas tradition, people from all walks of life came together on the spectacular Negombo beachfront opposite Jetwing Beach and Jetwing Blue, for the longest Christmas cake mixing ever held in Sri Lanka on the 26th October. Attended by 400 participants, made up of guests, associates and well wishers, the 100m long mixing was a sight to behold indeed.
Traditionally, each Jetwing hotel around the country organizes a cake mixing day with the participation of guests and associates individually.As the festival of Christmas is all about love, family and togetherness, this time around all Negombo hotels (Jetwing Beach, Jetwing Blue, Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions, Jetwing Sea, Jetwing Lagoon and Hotel J) all came together in a display of unity. Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle, Jetwing St. Andrew’s, Nuwara Eliya and Jetwing Vil Uyana, Sigiriya committed their support by purchasing the mix prepared from Negombo, rather than have separate events of their own.
With the ever entertaining Christmas carols providing a festive atmosphere, the ‘cooks for the day’ relished the activity with much gusto.
The event was made that much more special due to the unique backdrop of the wide beachfront, and the Indian Ocean only a few yards away.
