My lovely bird

My lovely bird is Mynah. Its colour is brown and black shaded. It can talk like a baby. Every morning it wishes me “good morning” and it says “hello” and its name and more words. It is scared of crackers.  When my mother calls me “Akchi” it will also repeat that. Whatever I am eating I will share with my mynah. I love my mynah very much. I am lucky to spend my time with my mynah.

Pride to Sri Lanka

The summit meeting of the Commonwealth countries will be held in Sri Lanka this November. Sri Lanka is a small
country but it is a good member of the Commonwealth. Therefore heads of about 54 Commonwealth member countries will meet in Sri Lanka this time. Sri Lanka is the host country. It is a great pleasure and pride to us.

During the time of the conference, many journalists, businessmen and agents of leading institutions will come here. It will give publicity to our country all over the world.
Our President becomes the Chairman of the Commonwealth for the coming two years. Therefore, we are very proud to see this occasion and we wish all success to our country.

My ambition in life

My ambition in life is to become a doctor. I know it is not easy to achieve this target. Yet, I think it is nothing like trying.
Right now, I am a Grade Ten student. I pay much attention on learning Science subjects. I hope to get through my Ordinary Level examination with good results so that I would get qualified for the Science Stream in the Advanced Level section.
To enter the Medical College, it will be very hard. I should obtain three ‘A’ passes and a good Z score. My ambition is to jump all these hurdles and enter the Medical Faculty.

A doctor is a noble personality. He is respected by everyone. He is an asset to a country. By helping the sick to recover he will be doing a great service. My ambition is to be a doctor someday so that I could be of service to my country. The medical profession is a noble profession. The pleasure you gain by curing patients is immeasurable. It is my strong determination to achieve this goal.

If I had a pet dog

If I had a pet dog, I would name it Micky and I would play with him every day. I would give him a bath every weekend and comb his coat every day. I would take him out for walks often and make a nice kennel for my Micky. I would put a nice collar around his neck.

I’d give him a bone to eat every day and I would keep him inside the house when it is raining. I would take good care of him.
I wish that I had a dog and I think one day my dream would come true.

My last vacation

My aunt and uncle came from Canada for the vacation. We went to Kalutara ‘Sand Beach Hotel.’  I went with my family. They were grandfather, grandmother, mother, Punchi, uncle, my brother and myself.

I enjoyed so much in the swimming pool. It is an oval shape pool. We had a lovely breakfast and dinner. We went to the beach and played and built sand castles. We were very sad after leaving there. We always remembered our lovely trip.
