Sri Lanka’s modern Mercedes- Benz car centre to be opened next month
View(s):Sri Lanka’s state of the art modern Mercedes- Benz car centre is to be opened next month catering to all requirements of luxury Benz customers, Ranjith Pandithage, Chairman and the Managing Director of Diesel and Motor Engineering Company Plc (DIMO) said.
The construction of the Mercedes-Benz show room, workshop and facility at Thotalanga has been completed to provide something special for customers who drive a special car, he added.
The total investment for the Mercedes- Benz car centre was Rs. 3.5 billion and it was built on a 18.5 acre land, Mr. Pandithage said, adding that it would be the company’s flagship project in the South Asian region.
“The company has bought the former Fern tea company land at Thotalanga near Peliyagoda at around Rs. 680 million for the Centre and a vehicle park for Mercedes Benz as well as TATA passenger cars,” he disclosed.
This will be a DIMO Technological Centre for both their TATA passenger and Mercedes Benz cars, he added. “It also consists of a massive auditorium with 1000 seating capacity and vehicle repair facility from painting to engine. The show room has the capacity to display 60 cars,” he revealed.
Customers of Mercedes-Benz, expect high quality after service and this Benz car centre will be fully geared to cater to their needs, he added.
The employees will be qualified and specialized personnel with experience trained by the Dimo training school in Sri Lanka and also in Germany.
