Jayaratne, under pressure to resign over the controversial attempt by one of his secretaries to get duty concessions for a heroin smuggler, was in more than a mournful mood when he attended the funeral of the Ven. Bopitiye Wanshananda Anunayake Thera of the Ramanna Nikaya in Payagala.
