SriLankan Cares hosts ‘disability awareness’ concert
View(s):Emmanuel Kelly the singer who caught the world’s imagination when he appeared on the Australian version of X Factor will be performing live at 7 p.m. on the Terrace at the Mount Lavinia Hotel on December 16 courtesy Sri Lankan Cares – the charity arm of SriLankan Airlines. Guest performances will be by local stars Bathiya and Santhush and VoicePrint. Proceeds of the concert will be channelled to continue Sri Lankan Cares’ programmes for ‘disability awareness’ and the ‘empowerment of children’.
Emmanuel has touched the hearts of millions of people and his YouTube video received over 12 million views. He has produced, recorded and written with U.S and Canadian song writers and hopes to appear on the hit TV show Glee in 2014.
Emmanuel is working with his Sri Lankan friends Angie and Maliq Deane to raise disability awareness on behalf of their son Stefan. SriLankan Cares is keeping the concept ‘Disability is Possibility’ alive by organising programmes that focus on changing attitudes of society towards those impaired at birth or in later life.
Emmanuel will be singing Viva la Vida (Coldplay), What a wonderful world (Louis Armstrong), Learn on me (Bill Withers), What makes you beautiful (One Direction) and one of his originals along with Christmas songs for the season at this show which promises to be a magical seasonal special..
