Delicious kanjee
Innovation seems to be the name of the game for this travelling salesman of a different kind who plies his ‘trade’ along the main road between Weligama and Habaraduwa. With a pot of bubbling sago kanjee tied to the rear of his bicycle, atop an actual fire, and two buckets with water and glasses hanging on the handle-bars, he is stopped by many for a steaming glass of kanjee along the way. His sales amount to about 100 glasses a day and he is content because he can feed his family with the income.
